The challenge
Pickers walked an average of 14 km per shift. An earlier AMR trial by another integrator had been abandoned when robots deadlocked in congested aisles and staff began routing around them.
What we did
We deployed twelve AMRs under a central traffic manager that reserves aisle segments rather than letting robots negotiate locally — the failure mode that killed the first attempt. A private 5G slice carries control traffic with a hard latency budget, isolated from video and telemetry. WMS integration means the fleet responds to real pick waves instead of a fixed schedule.
“The difference was the traffic manager. Same robots, different outcome.”
