The challenge
Annual inspection of 620 km of high-voltage transmission corridor was done on foot and by rope access — slow, hazardous, and thin enough in coverage that failures were still surprising the utility.
What we did
Corridor-following autonomous missions captured RGB and thermal imagery of every tower and span. A detection model flagged damaged insulators, corroded fittings, conductor damage and vegetation encroachment, scoring each finding by severity so crews could be dispatched against a ranked list rather than a schedule.
