The challenge

Two reference-grade monitoring stations could tell the city its average air quality but nothing about which junctions, industrial pockets or construction sites were actually driving it.

What we did

Sixty low-cost sensor nodes deployed across wards, each co-located periodically with a reference station for drift correction — the step most low-cost networks skip and the reason most of them produce unusable data. Calibrated readings feed a public dashboard and a source-attribution model that ranks contributing zones.

A sterile injectables line relied on three human inspectors per shift to catch cracks, particulate and fill-level faults. Escape rates rose predictably in the last hour of every shift, and a single batch recall would cost more than a year of inspection headcount.
